OSL - FRA - BOG - UIO
The day began with a meeting up at Oslo Central Station at 07.00. It was really hard for anyone to imagine how long this trip would be.
First stop after Oslo was Frankfurt Airport. Here we were part of an unintentional advertisement for a random hot-dog stand somewhere close to gate Z. At one point we were maybe 10 people surrounding this guys hot-dog stand.
Our next flight from Frankfurt was the long and exhausting flight to Bogota. Some enjoyed sleeping in an upright position, while others watched several movies. Time passed rather slowly, but in the end the plane landed in Bogota at around 18.00 local time. Here we had to deal with what seemed to be an endless struggle between comfort, awakens and sleep. We made some strange sleeping constellations - some slept on the floor, while others enjoyed some ergonomically-shaped lounge chairs. Meanwhile another group tried to loosen up their bodies by walking around the confined space of Bogota airport.
The next flight from Bogota was at 22.00 local time - which for us meant that we now have been up for 19 hours. Since we only had a couple of hours of sleep the previous night - this became tedious for our souls.
In the end we managed to land in Quito and rushed out as fast as possible in order to get to our booked destinations - some stay in a place called Secret Garden - while the rest found some AirBnB! Tomorrow is about adapting to Quito which sits high in the Andean foothills at an altitude of 2,850m.
